Jordan found the lead through attacking midfielder Hassan Abdel Fattah, currently with Qatari club Al Khor, in the 66th minute while Majed Mohammed found the equaliser two minutes later.
“We played really well. Our midfield did a good job. Despite playing in the hot weather, we didn’t make any tactical mistakes. That makes me very happy,” said Qatar national team coach Paulo Autuori.
The match was a part of the teams’ preparation for the final round of the 2014 World Cup Asian qualification. In their Group A match, Qatar will play Uzbekistan in Doha while Jordan travel to Muscat for their Group B match against Oman.
Meanwhile, Qatar will play another friendly against Oman on Tuesday. The match, to be played at the Qatar Sports Club, will kick off at 3.25pm.
