Doha: India Olympic team coach Stephen Constantine exuded confidence the weather will not be a hindrance as the players are used to similar hot and humid conditions back home.
India, who are clubbed with hosts Qatar, Syria and Turkmenistan in Group C AFC U23 qualifiers, kicked off their training sessions at the Qatar Sports Club on Sunday.
“The weather won’t be a problem. It has been hot in India and we’re prepared for the challenge. But it’s going to be tough,” said Constantine.”
Qatar, who finished fourth at the 2016 AFC U23 tournament, will start as the favourites, but Constantine said he would respect every opponent equally.
“We’ll deal each opponent separately,”' he added.
India open their campaign against Syria Al Sadd Stadium on Wednesday.
