Doha: Al Sadd goalkeeper Saoud Al Hajri, who joined from Al Rayyan this season, believes he will have to work really hard to challenge No.1 keeper Saad Al Dosari in the team.
“Saad is the first choice keeper at Sadd and in Qatar. It’s going to be the biggest challenge in my career,” Al Hajri said in an interview on the club’s website.
“Saad isn’t just a teammate. He’s also like my younger brother and a good person. He was one of the first to greet me when I joined the club,” he added.
The 31-year-old wants to improve his skills under the club’s new goalkeeping coach Luca Squinzani, who also joined the club this season.
“He’s new, but he’s from the same Italian school of coaching we had before. I’ve worked with him in the last couple of days. I found him very good. He pushes me to get better. I hope it’ll help me to develop into a much better player,” said Hajri, who had a 12-year stint at Rayyan.
