Doha, Qatar: AS Roma boys stormed into the semifinal of the Al Kass International Cup Under-17 football tournament with a 3-0 thrashing of Spartak Moscow.
In the match played at Aspire Grounds on Monday, Roma took the lead in the 31st minute through Edoardo Bove’s towering header.
Daniel Fotso doubled their lead in the 67th with another headed goal, while Riccardo Ciervo completed the tally with a close-range finish in the added time.
Roma will take on Aspire Academy in the semifinals.
The other last-four match will pit Kashiwa Reysol against Scotland’s Rangers FC after the Japanese side stunned Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Kashiwa opened the scoring through Naito Saito’s penalty in the 24th minute and Yuki Shimizu made it 2-0 in the 39th with a left footed shot from inside the area.
