EL QUIYADA emerged as Association Cup champions after beating Al Wakrah 35-33 in their last round-robin encounter.
With 10 wins and one draw, Quiyada finished their engagements with 32 points at the Qatar Handball Association Hall last week.
El Jaish, who beat Lekhwiya 28-26 in their last match, finished second with 31 points while Al Wakrah edged Qatar Sports Club 28-27 in a close encounter to end up third on 27.
Jaish suffered only one reversal, to Quiyada (24-31) in the eighth round. In hindsight, that put paid to their title chances.
Quiyada, who had the likes of former Qatar international Borja Vidal in their ranks, were the deserving champions.
Mohammed Al Buanain also played well throughout the tournament.
The only team which came close to beating them was Al Ahli, who held them to a 29-29 draw in the seventh round.
