DOHA: Qatar’s women fencing team clinched a bronze at the sixth edition of GCC Women’s Games in Kuwait on Sunday.
Team Qatar opened the campaign with a bronze in the foil class (individual) by Ameera Abo Jobara while her team-mate Lina al Boainin reached the last eight stage.
Qatari duo , Duha and Zikryat Rashid Al Abdullah alongside sisters Sara and Haya Fadi Diyab were due to compete in the Epee and Sabre classes. While Qatar’s handball team will lock horns against hosts Kuwait.
The ten-day event features six nations in 11 events.
The Qatari delegation is led by Lolwa al Marri, President of Qatar Women’s Sport Committee, accompanied by 132 athletes, administrators and technical staff members.
