Doha: Qatar lost to Poland 18-24 in their second match in the boys’ category at the ISF World Schools Handball Championship in Doha on Friday.
Qatar had thrashed Morocco 39-12 in their first match but they found the going tough against a much stronger Poland side in the match played at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena.
In other matches, Austria defeated Denmark 23-12, Croatia had it easy against Bulgaria 31-12, while France outplayed Serbia 30-19.
In the girls' section, Turkey beat Bulgaria 35-16, while Slovenia overcame Greece 23-12. Sweden blanked Poland 6-0, Romania defeated Israel 28-15, Croatia thrashed Georgia 26-9, Hungary beat the Czech Republic 29-16 and Denmark thrashed Belgium 45-10.
