Doha: Qatar crashed out of the IHF 2017 Men's Junior World Handball Championship after losing to France 18-35, their fourth defeat in as many matches in Group B, on Saturday. Qatar had begun promisingly with a battling display in a 21-22 defeat against Sweden, but that was their only noteworthy performance of the tournament. Valero Rivera's boys then lost to Slovenia 31-23 and Denmark 26-36 before the thrashing by France. Qatar trailed 7-17 at half-time.
Heiba Moustafa, Bakhder Khalid and Ahmed Gamal top-scored with three points each for Qatar, who will take on Egypt in their last group match on Monday. France Slovenia Denmark and Sweden progressed from the group while Egypt also bowed out.
