Doha: Qatar University (QU) will hope to annex their fifth title in a row when they meet Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) at the fifth University League final on Thursday.
The match will kick off at 8pm at Qatar Foundation’s (QF) Recreation Center, Pitch 1.
QU had a narrow 1-0 win against CMU-Q while TAMUQ, who qualified for their maiden final, defeated QAC 3-1 in the semifinals.
The third-place playoff will be held between Qatar Aeronautical College (QAC) and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU-Q) at 7pm.
“I wish the finalists best of luck and also look forward to witnessing great sportsmanship on the field,” said Chairman of the Sub-Leagues Committee, Qatar Football Association (QFA) Hilal Al Mohannadi.
Nine teams participated in this year’s edition, which is sponsored by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.
The league, which aims to promote the sport at the youth level and raise awareness about the importance of community-based sports, is a joint initiative of QFA and QF.
