Doha: Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMU-Q) will face Qatar Aeronautical College (QAC) will meet in the first semifinal while Qatar University (QU) will meet Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) in the second at the fifth University League on Thursday.
The first match, which will be held at Qatar Foundation’s (QF’s) Recreation Center, pitch 1, will kick off at 7pm followed by the second at 8pm.
“We are very happy with the level of competitiveness witnessed between the students this year, and wish the four teams the best of luck in reaching the finals. The University League is an initiative that demonstrates QFA’s social responsibility strategy in providing a platform for students at college and
university level to play organized football," said Hilal Al Mohannadi, QFA's Sub-Leagues Committee Chairman.
Organized by QFA and QF, the University League started in 2013 and encourages
participation from all colleges and universities across Qatar.
Mohammed Al Saoud, Head of Recreation Services, Qatar Foundation, said, “The University League is a wonderful initiative as it aims to encourage young adults to lead active, healthier lifestyles. It’s been great to see so many different teams from across Qatar."
