Doha: Qatar’s woman sports icon Nada Zeidan, a two-time Asian Games archer and Middle East’s first female Rally driver, will be seen in action in the Red Bull – Qatar “Car Park Drift” to be held on Friday, February 23, in Doha.
Nada is coming back to action after a two-year break during which she gave birth to a baby girl. Her daughter Ayoon is now two years old.
The annual drift showdown will be held at the Losail Circuit Sports Club at 7pm and is expected to attract dozens of contestants as well as thousands of motorsport fans.
Contestants are expected to display their proficiency behind the steering wheel as they take on a challenging new course inspired by Lebanese Rally and Drift champion Abdo Feghali, who will be supervising and performing at the event.
“We’re going to be setting it up at the Losail Circuit Sports Club, which means we have even more space for the drifters to comfortably demonstrate all their skills, techniques and control. I’m looking forward to crowning Qatar’s next King of Drift that will qualify for the grand finale in Lebanon,” said Feghali, at a Press conference in Doha on Monday.
The Red Bull Car Park Drift Series has become critically acclaimed by thousands of fans and motorsport enthusiasts in Qatar. This comes with a high standard of safety and security that guarantees an entertaining environment for both the participants as well as the audience.
The event will be sponsored by Q-Tire, which is part of Marzooq Shamlan Al Shamlan Holding.
The high-profile competition is to be held under the support and supervision of Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation, and in partnership with Vodafone Qatar, Losail Circuit Sports Club, TOTAL, and Falken Tires.
