AFTER impressing at the Al Kass Cup, ASPIRE Academy captain Nasser Abdulsalam now nurtures the dream of representing Qatar at the 2022 World Cup.
The attacking midfielder said the success achieved by Abdulkarim Hassan and Akram Afif, who both graduated from Aspire and made rapid strides to join the national team, was greatly inspiring.
“Abdulkarim and Akram inspire me,” said Nasser. “Their growth as international footballers has been phenomenal. Both of them work hard and it’s the secret behind their success. I relate more to Akram as I’m an attacking player. One day I hope to play alongside both of them in the senior national team.”
Nasser said the ultimate dream was to play at the World Cup at home.
“I want to play for my country at the 2022 World Cup,” said Nasser. “To play in the tournament on home soil is the ultimate dream of every footballer. I’ve a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity coming my way in 2022 and I want to make full use of it.”
