Qatar Shooting and Archery Association (QSAA) General Secretary Abdullah Ali Mutawa Al Hammadi said it was time to forget the Rio debacle and move on.
The QSAA official, who doubles as Competition Director for events at the Losail Shooting Range, believes Olympics is not the end of the road.
“Let’s forget Rio. Let bygones be bygones. No point in brooding over it. Now it’s time to focus on future events and get moving. Olympics isn’t the end. It should be the beginning,” said Al Hammadi.
While saying that it is too early to talk about the Tokyo Games, Al Hammadi opined that priority should be accorded to spot the right talents.
“We, at the QSAA, are doing our best to spot talents at a young age. At the Losail range, we’re providing first-class training facilities to nurture them. The onus is on shooters to take advantage of all that,” he added.
