AFTER their resounding success in the domestic season, El Jaish hope to extend their form to international competitions as well.
The Armymen wrapped up four domestic titles — Qatar League, Qatar Cup, Emir’s Cup and Singles and Doubles Championships.
“It was a great show. We had built a good squad with experienced players including Chinese professional Yan An as we wanted to field a strong team,” said team’s Table Tennis Head Khalid Al Kuwari. “Our next target is to do well at the GCC and Arab Clubs Championships.”
In appreciation of a job well done, the club honoured the team members at a function last week.
“We want to thank the players and coaches who did a wonderful job. I appreciate their hard work which has helped Jaish become the best team in the country.”
“The achievements will motivate us to do well in future. One of our goals will be to retain the titles. It’ll be a challenging job as teams like Al Sadd, Qatar Sports Club and Al Rayyan will also vie for honours,” he said.
