ENGLAND’S Tommy Fleetwood, winner of last week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, is keen to extend his good run in the Middle East with a fine performance at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
At Abu Dhabi, the 26-year-old posted a five-under-par 67 in his final round. It comprised a bogey-free back nine, which included an eagle and three birdies. He may well be a top contender to lift the Mother of Pearl Trophy.
Fleetwood sealed the title with a 265 yard 3-wood from the rough on the 18th to give himself two putts for a closing birdie. He finished one shot ahead of Dustin Johnson and Pablo Larrazabal.
“If you want to win, go for it, that’s how I take it,” said Fleetwood, whose previous Tour win came at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles in August, 2013.
