ACE Qatari athlete Femi Seun Ogunode confirmed his presence in 100M at the Doha Diamond League meet, to be held at the Qatar Sports Club Stadium on May 5.
Femi, who holds Asia’s fastest time of 9.91sec, will be eyeing a good show in front of home fans in the blue riband event that includes a star-studded line-up, also featuring Rio Olympics silver medallist Justin Gatlin, 22-year-old sprint sensation Andre de Grasse, last year’s Diamond Race winner Asafa Powell and six-time Olympian Kim Collins.
There will be further Qatari action in the men’s 400M hurdles when Abdulrahman Samba lines up against Rio Games champion Kerron Clement of the US and silver medallist Bonface Mucheru of Kenya.
Rio high jump silver medallist Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar had already confirmed his participation.
The men’s triple jump promises yet another exciting competition with all three Rio Games medallists – America’s Christian Taylor, his compatriot Will Claye and China’s world indoor champion Bin Dong — set to renew their rivalry.
