QATAR will enjoy the world’s most technologically-advanced fan experience during the FIFA 2022 World Cup, thanks to the innovative use of real-time data analytics with in-memory platform SAP HANA.
“Qatar’s vision and infrastructure puts it in an ideal position to deliver some of the most-technologically advanced events,” said SAP SE Senior Vice-President and Global General Manager for Sports & Entertainment Stefan Wagner at a discussion titled ‘Age of the digital sports fan in Qatar’ on Tuesday.
The ASPIRE Academy currently uses the real-time analytics platform to drive youth development by sharing data from a network of clubs around the world with coaches, sports scientists, athletes and management.
The software enables teams and organisations to manage players and engage more efficiently with their fans.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have been using real-time technology to interact with fans through digital channels.
“Fans are passionate and want instant connections with their favourite teams on mobile apps and social media. Qatar has the opportunity to deliver the ultimate fan experience,” said Director of IT and New Media at Bayern Munich Stefan Mennerich.
