Doha: The four-day FIFA Technical Experts’ Workshop concluded here at the Intercontinental Hotel with a total of 75 members from 45 countries focussed on the exchange of experiences and common goals.
FIFA Technical Director Steven Martens and Qatar Football Association (QFA) Director of Football Development Fahad Thani were present at the closing ceremony.
The workshop was the first of four events organised by FIFA in Qatar.
The three remaining ones include 2018 FIFA World Cup Referees Workshop (February 5-9), 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup France (February 12-16) and the FIFA Master FUTURO Workshop (February 19-23).
“The workshop discussed on the sport’s development. I would like to thank FIFA for choosing Qatar to host this programme,” said Fahad.
In addition to women’s football and coaches training, the programme also focused on grassroots and youth football, as well as on the technical advisers and directors in the various confederations and national associations.
"The aim was to achieve a common understanding of our goals and to bring all the activities together,” said Martens.
