THREE-TIME champions Al Gharafa thrashed Qatar SC 102-74 in a Group B match of the Emir’s Cup at the Al Gharafa Indoor Hall last week.
After narrowly missing out on the league title to El Jaish recently, Al Gharafa had made amends by winning the Qatar Cup and now hope to end the season with a domestic double.
Saad Abdulrahman top-scored for Gharafa with 23 points, with Michael Taylor (19), Sammy Monroe (18), Salem Abdelqader (15) and Salem Abdulla (11) also chipping in with useful scores. For Qatar SC, Edward Justice netted 29.
In another match, Adamu Saaka scored 33 points and Osaro Adako as well as Souleye Ndour 20 each as Al Arabi fought off a late challenge from Al Shamal to win 92-86.
Harat Mohamed was the top scorer for Shamal with 31 while Nikola Vasojevic contributed 17.
