ADAY Alvarez Diez de Ulzurrun of Carbon Wheels Racing and Isora Sosa Caballero won the men’s and women’s overall title respectively of the Royal Air Maroc (Morocco’s national airline) League, which concluded at the Losail International Circuit last week.
The five-month-long league comprised 10 legs. Competitions were held in men’s professional (Group A and B), amateur youth and women’s categories in six road races and four time trials in Doha, Losail, Al Thakira, Al Ruwais and Dukhan.
First-place finishers earned 58 points — 50 for a win, three for podium and five for participation — while eight best scores across the season were totalled to decide the league winners.
De Ulzurrun finished fourth in the concluding leg, but bagged the overall crown while Chris Murrin of Rasen Velostar came second behind Giant RBS’ Glenn Bull. Giant RBS rider Farhan Farizi, ended up third. Nehad Kadry claimed the Men’s B crown.
