OLYMPIC gold medallists Krisztian Berki (2012 London) and Catalina Ponor (2004 Athens) will be among a host of stars for the 10th FIG Artistic Individual Apparatus World Cup, to be held at the Aspire Dome.
The qualification rounds will be held on March 22 and 23 and finals on March 24 and 25.
“It has been a long journey since we first hosted the event in 2008. We try to make it better after every edition,” Qatar Gymnastics Federation President Ali Ahmed Al Hitmi told a Press conference on Tuesday.
More than 100 gymnasts from 33 countries are expected to compete in Doha.
Ahmed Al Dayani and Ahmed Nabil Mousa will lead Qatar’s challenge while Jana El Keky will be the hosts’ only competitor among women.
Doha is the second stopover in the World Cup series. Melbourne (Australia) hosted the first leg while Baku (Azerbaijan) and Cottbus (Germany) are the next two venues.
