Doha: Al Rayyan signed Qatari midfielder Ahmed Maksoud from Duhail Club, a move that will give their midfield plenty of stability. The 27-year old holding midfielder was with Al Arabi and later with Al Ahli, on loan from Lekhwiya last season.
Hard working Maksoud, who signed the contract in the presence of Rayyan Football Head Ali Salem Afifa, is a battler in midfield and could be a great acquisition for Michael Laudrup’s side.
The Qatar international, who was part of the 2014 Gulf Cup winning team in Riyadh, was with Lekhwiya since 2012, before joining Umm-Salal on loan in 2013.
He has also played for Al Sadd from 2010 to 2012.
