Al Rayyan drubbed arch rivals Al Arabi 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-18) to surge to the top of the Qatar League table on Friday.
Rayyan, who have already beaten reigning champions Police as well, have eight points from three matches. Police who defeated Al Khor 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-23)in Friday's second match, are second with seven points.
Al Wakrah are third with six points while Arabi, traditionally the most powerful club in Qatar, are fourth.
In the next round of matches on December 11, Qatar SC take on Gharafa while Al Shamal play Al Sadd.
