Doha: Qatar’s Al Rayyan continued with their scintillating form to enter the final of the 36th Arab Volleyball Championship in Tunis. In the semifinal match on Saturday, Qatar League leaders Rayyan stormed past Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal 25-15, 25-14, 25-18.
Rayyan, who thrashed Omani side Al Seeb in the quarterfinal (25-16, 25-19, 25-22) gave the Saudi Arabians no chance.
They will take on Esperance Sportive de Tunis in the final after the Tunisian side defeated Qatar’s other representative Al Arabi 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 in the first semifinal.
Arabi too had been putting in convincing performances including in their quarterfinal victory against Libyan side Ahli Benghazi (25/20, 23/25, 25/21, 25/23), but they could not repeat the show against the hosts.
