Doha: Promoted side Al Markhiya signed Iraqi center-back Rebin Sulaka from Norwegian First Division side Elverum Fotball to complete their quota of foreign professional players for the next Qatar Stars League (QSL) season.
All QSL clubs are allowed to sign four overseas players including one Asian.
Markhiya, who won the Second Division Qatargas League last season, had earlier signed Burkina Faso international Alain Traore, Gambian midfielder Tejan Gita and Ghanaian striker Kwame Karikari.
“I’m excited to have signed for Markhiya. I hope I can make a positive impact and help the side reach its goals in the competition,” said Sulaka after he was unveiled by the club.
