Doha: Abdulaziz Al Kuwari emerged as the most powerful Qatari at the Qatar’s Strongest Man’ (QSM) 2017 competition, organised by Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) on Saturday.
Talal Al Kuwari, who won the title in 2014, was second while Hadi Ali Al Marri came third.
The gruelling event, which is into its fifth edition, tested the competitors’ mettle in five challenging tasks — the truck pull, the sandbag lift, the giant tyre lift, the farmer walk and the car lift.
Earlier on Friday, Kenyan Christopher Okic had defended his title in the open category.
Okic’s compatriot Joseph Erow Ikadele finished second while Egyptian Mohamed Dweidar was third.
