THE Asian Volleyball Confederation’s (AVC) Aspire Qatar Master will begin at the Aspire beach volleyball courts on Wednesday.
Twenty four teams will compete in the fourth AVC Beach Tour event on the 2017 calendar.
Being the host nation, Qatar can field three teams.
Qatar’s challenge will be led by Olympians Jefferson Pereira and Cheriff Younousse, who won the AVC Beach Tour’s season opener at Satun, Thailand, recently.
The second team will comprise Julio Cesar Jr and Ahmed Tijan.
They are also in good form, having finished fourth at the recent AVC Championship in Songkhla, Thailand.
Tamer Issa and Abdulaziz Khallouf will make up the third side.
It will be the first tournament for Qatar at home under new coach Mario Baracetti.
The Argentinian had replaced Brazilian Pedro Pablo Costa, who took Qatar to their maiden Olympic appearance at Rio last year.
