Doha: Qatar's Julio César Do Nascimento and Ahmed Tijan finished as runners up at the 2017 FIVB World Tour Espinho Open in Portugal on Sunday.
Julio and Tijan lost to Brazilians George Wanderley and Vitor Felipe in straight sets (12-21, 13-21) in the final.
The Qatari players had been in superb form en route to the final, but they could not deliver when it mattered the most.
Earlier, Julio and Tijan defeated Christian Sorum and Svein Solhaug of Norway 21-18, 23-21 to book their berth in the final, while Wanderley and Felipe had beaten Anders Berntsen Mol and Mathias Berntsen 20-22, 21-19, 19-17 in the other semifinal.
Mol and Mathias Berntsen got the better of Sorum and Solhaug 22-20, 21-15 to take third place.
